With the Super Bowl fast approaching, I wanted to share this video of “The Drive” from Super Bowl XXIII in 1989. For an 8-year old living in the Bay Area at the time (as I was), This was a HUGE deal. Oh, and did I mention that the video is in Japanese? It’s pretty hilarious to hear the announcer scream, “Montana magic!” when they score the winning touchdown.
Fun tidbit for Bay Area sports fans: Look for Mark Ibanez (the KTVU sports anchor) at the bottom of your screen at the 5:40 mark.
